Hotels in Slovenia
Belica, Goriška Brda
Since the beginning of Slovene Dream, this has been one of our favourite hotels... plus it's right in the middle of one of Slovenia's great wine areas.
The first floor bedrooms are accessed from the gallery, which leads into very summery, cool corridors. All rooms are slightly different and all are furnished with traditional, beautiful wooden furniture.
There is also a penthouse, which has a further four bedrooms.
The beds are firm and comfortable, and the bathrooms are nicely fitted. Two of the bedrooms have a jacuzzi.
The menu changes almost daily, as the chef insists on using local ingredients (many of which are grown on the property) that are good on that day. The cuisine is that gorgeous blend of Slovene and Italian which is indigenous to the area: pastas and risottos are simple and all the better for it, as you get to taste (truffles, when we last visited) the ingredients in their glory; fish is sourced the same day from the Adriatic; oh, and Zlatko makes excellent cured meats. In fact, the best pršut and salamis we've ever eaten - honest.
The restaurant is closed on Mondays, when they have an arrangement for their guests at the nearby Bužinel.

In the summer, shorts, T-shirts, sturdy shoes or boots, something warm for the evenings and something waterproof in case it rains, for daytime adventures.
More than welcome.
Belica is open all year.
Goriška Brda leans against the Italian border and is just an hour's easy drive to the Adriatic, so you can expect very warm summers. July and August are the hottest months, with daytime temperatures around 25C, while during spring and autumn you can expect around 15-20C. Evening temperatures will be slightly lower, so bring something a little warmer.
Slovenian, English, Italian
Beautiful rooms scenery, wine, food, swimming pool and view.
Hi Bob... our second trip to Slovenia - the first being last year and it just gets better and better! Our first stop of this trip was Belica - magical. The staff were all so friendly and helpful - I know your website stresses Belica is a working vineyard and not a hotel - we found absolutely nothing lacking in the service and attention to detail and were really impressed. The cleanliness was first class - I don't think we have ever stayed ANYWHERE so clean! The food was superb - we ate EVERY meal there - outdoors in the sunshine for lunch and again for a leisurely evening dinner. The swimming pool perched atop of that wonderful view, endless miles of rolling hills and vineyards... Belica is truly our Heaven on earth.
The people were very friendly and helpful. No problems with communication as every one we met spoke good English. Every thing just as you told us it would be! A great little country to visit with something for everyone, mountains, lakes and a lovely little coast line and sparkling blue sea. Not crowded or over commercialised. Loads of things to do! I would recommend Slovenia to everyone!
Great views and a good location for travelling about. You can even pop to Italy for a real Italian pizza (we did!). Hotel [Belica] was clean and the food was excellent.
